Advice for Life from a Window Living in a metropolitan environment filled with mobile computers, cellular phones, and other high-tech gadgets is not only very hectic but also very impersonal. After we have earned money, we put our efforts and time into earning more money. Is it over? Most of the time not because we never feel satisfied. How many times have we convinced ourselves that life would be wonderful if only we had more money? However, after receiving a substantial raise, do we then realize that it was insufficient and that we require additional funds?
What ought you to do?
I have perused many books on life, for example, Robin Sharma's Priest says this and the priest says that, and they all appear to say that cash isn't required. Yet, it is. Can you live without a lot of cash? I am aware of this.
So, I went to the local Rabbi and asked for help figuring out my true path in life.
I was taken to the window after the rabbi nodded. What are you seeing? I was asked.
"I can see people walking to and fro, and a blind man is begging for alms at the left corner," I responded promptly.
I was led to a large mirror after the Rabbi gave me a nod. Take a look now, and tell me what you see.
I man replied, "I can see myself."
The Rabbi laughed. Now, no one else can be seen. Both the window and the mirror are made of the same raw material:glass, but because one of them has a thin layer of silver on it, all you can see when you look at it is your reflection.
I felt the Rabbi's hand on my shoulders. Take those two pieces of glass as an example of yourself. You saw the other people and felt sorry for them without the silver layer. You only see yourself when you are covered in silver.
I stared at the Rabbi as I looked at him. I cannot comprehend."
The Rabbi went on. Only if you dare to remove the silver covering over your eyes to see and love others will you become someone. I was sent on my way after he gave me a back pat.
After considering what he said, I concluded that he was correct.Yes.We shouldn't try to live without money because we need it; It has no purpose and will only result in numerous future heartbreaks for our families.
Instead, I suggest that we follow the Rabbi's instructions. We can only see ourselves when we approach life through a silver veil. You will, however, be able to see and feel everyone else if you remove that covering.
We should be able to look at both kinds of mirrors in life, but we should keep in mind that a mirror only reflects us; Compassion, health, and genuine wealth all open through a window. To put it another way, you should go after wealth no matter what, but you shouldn't let it keep you away from life, people, children, and the needy.
